Planning a wedding is a lot of work, and if your day is approaching soon, you may be thinking about how to make your parents feel loved on your special day. You can always give a gift, but here’s a few other thoughtful alternatives they are sure to appreciate.

Include them in pictures

Whether it’s your own parents or your future in laws, include them in your pictures! The day will flash by, so make sure it’s a priority by adding a row into your day of timeline for each combination of people you’d like to take pictures with. You can also let them know before the wedding that it’s important to you to have a memory with them from the day, so tell them when they need to be ready by for those shots. We promise that gesture won’t go unnoticed.
Write a heartfelt letter

A great way to make your parents feel loved is by giving them a handwritten letter to open the morning of the wedding. You can make it as personal as you’d like – just write from the heart! You can thank them for helping, express how you’re so excited to officially be their son or daughter in law, or praise them for how they’ve raised the person you’re going to marry.
Honor your grandparents

Weddings are filled with emotion, and can often be challenging especially if you’ve recently lost a grandparent. On the morning of the wedding, show your parents or your future in laws how you’re honoring their parents during the ceremony. Some of our favorite ideas are adding something special to the bouquet, having an open seat in the front row, mentioning their names in memory during the ceremony, or wearing a special lapel pin as you walk down the aisle.
