Picking out your wedding tuxedo is just as important as picking out a dress! With so many rental services available, it can be overwhelming to pick the perfect one. Besides the price, here’s exactly what to ask before placing the order.
What is included in your wedding tuxedo rental?
At a minimum, most tuxedo rental companies will include:
- Tuxedo coat
- Tuxedo pants
- Formal shirt
- Tuxedo shoes
Inquire about accessories like a bowtie, cufflinks, suspenders, and more. When comparing wedding tuxedo rental companies, make sure you’re comparing total price of everything you want.
Am I able to try it on before I rent?
Some services will allow you to try on a variety of different styles if they carry attire in-store. Other online-only rental services may advise you on a date to place your order so you have enough days to try it on before the wedding.
What are my fabric and color options?
While black is the most popular wedding tuxedo option, don’t be afraid to branch out! Tuxedos also come in a variety of colors and fabrics. We’ve seen many couples get creative by playing with options to better suit their wedding theme or destination.
How do I get alterations?
Some rental companies will only allow you to do alterations if they do it in-house. Others will allow you to go to a local tailor but may have restrictions around hemming and cutting fabrics. It’s always great to ask because alterations can sometimes be expensive depending on what is needed.
Can I purchase my rental?
If you’re deciding whether to rent or purchase, this is a great question to ask! Some services will not allow you to purchase because they want to keep their inventory full. Others may allow a certain period to decide whether you’d like to purchase your rental or return it. It may be worth it to compare the cost difference if you were to “rent to buy” versus purchasing a brand-new tuxedo outright.
