For most people, planning a wedding is more of a family affair. You’ve got parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and probably some close friends who are eager to help. Correction: eager to help even if you don’t want or need the help. If you’re afraid of giving other people tasks because you’re scared you’ll lose control, you’ve come to the right place. You can’t do it all, but there’s definitely some low risk wedding tasks you can delegate!

1. Hotel room block rates
Calling hotels in your wedding city to gather information about room block rates can be time consuming. Consider putting someone else in charge of this and have them bring you all your options. You can even give them a list of questions you would like to know about each hotel so they just fill out a spreadsheet as they research!
2. Airport transportation
If you have guests coming into town for your wedding, consider giving someone the responsibility of picking people up from the airports! Put the two people in contact with each other and let them coordinate flight times.
3. Follow up with the non-RSVPers
You will probably have a handful of people on your guest list who missed the RSVP deadline. Have someone follow up with those guests to receive their RSVP. Delegate someone to call, text, or email guests. You can even set up a template note if you’re worried the person you’re delegating this task to won’t communicate your request appropriately
4. Deliver welcome bags
Some hotels may charge you a fee to have welcome bags delivered to each of your guests hotel rooms. If they don’t allow distribution upon check in at the front desk, you can delegate someone to deliver your welcome bags for you. Make sure they are preassembled before, so all the person has to do is go door to door!
5. Tip distribution
The last thing you want to worry about at the end of your wedding night is making sure you’ve tipped your vendors. Put someone else in charge of distributing tips so you don’t have to worry about it. Place your tips in envelopes so nothing gets mixed up!
