On setting up the budget

Nowadays, many couples pay for their wedding entirely by themselves, but that is not always the case. If you think your family will be offering to pay for some or all of the wedding, initiate that conversation early on in the planning process so everyone is on the same page about the budget and expectations. Never make assumptions about what your family is willing and able to contribute!
Also, (touchy subject alert) find out if contributions from your family come with strings attached. For example, if your parents are helping to pay, do they expect to be able to make decisions about the wedding or add people to the guest list? If so, you may want to reconsider what you will accept from them if you don’t want them feeling they’ll have the right to dictate decisions about your wedding. – Alicia Mariconda, Salud Planner & Founder of Alicia Margaret Events.
On making your wedding “Instagrammable”

When setting up your wedding, create a wide variety of backdrops for impromptu photoshoots! Your guests will love the options, which may range from scenic ocean views to fairytale-like scenes. Complement these backdrops with coordinating decor like a few bales for hay, for a country backdrop, for example! – Autumn Tall, Salud Planner & Founder of Fall In Love Events.
On throwing a backyard wedding

Before booking any vendors, make sure you verify with your city to see if permits are needed to host a large party or event. There might be regulations, noise ordinances, and fire codes you don’t want to violate. While you check on permits, also verify rules for parking in your neighborhoods. If you community has restrictions, you may need to explore shuttling guests from their hotels, encouraging them to take an Uber, or hiring valet! – Marisela Gonzalez, Salud Planner & Founder of Purest Hearts Events
On throwing a destination wedding in the mountains

Altitude is something to take seriously! For example, the town of Aspen, where I plan weddings, is 7,908 feet above sea level. We are closer to the sun and there is less oxygen up here! Include on your wedding website some tips to help with altitude sickness and precautions to take when drinking at higher altitudes. I always suggest including altitude kits int he welcome bags too – sunblock, chapstick, water, mini oxygen cans, high altitude pills, and a bullet points list of recommendations to help guests who start feeling sick! – Kelsi Moore, Salud Planner and Founder of ZG Events Aspen
On why you should hire a wedding planner

Hire a wedding planner because you aren’t an expert. That’s not a bad thing though! Remember, you’re probably amazing at what you do and you can do it faster and better than a total novice. Wedding planning is exactly the same. Your planner is a professional with training and experience who has the tools and knowledge to make this process feel easy, stress-free, and actually fun! – Briana Johnson, Salud Planner and Founder of Planned and Polished Events.
